Call for Applications! Based at USC's Annenberg School of Journalism, The California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowships offer professional journalists this opportunity to apply for an all-expenses-paid mini fellowship with $2,000-$10,000 reporting grant. Grantees spend the week of July 24 - 29, 2011 in Los Angeles. Students are ineligible. Apply by May 2, 2011.

This unique, intensive program, August 13-28, 2011, offers professionals in both science and communications an opportunity to learn print, visual, interactive media, and other communication formats from some of the world's leading science communicators in beautiful Banff, Alberta. Apply by April 15th.

The Institutes for Journalism & Natural Resources will select 14 journalists for this expenses-paid learning expedition, July 8-16, 2011. Explore the Puget Sound estuary and its surrounding shores and uplands, including Hood Canal, the Duwamish Waterway and the Port of Tacoma, as well as fisheries, wetlands and farms along the Skagit River delta. Deadline extgended to June 8.

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is accepting applications until Aug 13 for its annual Ocean Science Journalism Fellowship program, which will be held from Oct 18-22, 2021.

VLGS is accepting applications from full-time journalists at different career stages for its 2024 two-week summer media fellowships program — two for environmental law and policy, one for food/agriculture law and two for animal law and policy. Cash stipends, free housing. Apply by Mar 29.

Ocean Conservancy is offering a travel scholarship to one working print, broadcast, or on-line journalist who covers environmental issues to attend the Fifth International Marine Debris Conference (5IMDC) entitled Wave of Change: Global Lessons to Inspire Local Action in Honolulu, Hawaii from March 20-25. Apply by Feb 11th.

Journalists with minimum three years' experience in reporting science, medicine, environment or technology for the public are selected for an academic year at MIT. Must be full-time reporters, writers, editors, producers, illustrators, filmmakers or photojournalists, either freelance or on staff. $85,000 stipend. Apply by Jan 15, 2024.

Gain hands-on knowledge of oceanographic techniques in labs and on board the R/V Acadiana and discuss the latest research on the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster with leading experts. The seminar, April 6-8, 2011, is tuition free and includes room and board. Deadline: January 31, 2011.
