NICAR's annual conference will be devoted to computer-assisted reporting (CAR). Learn about tools you need to dig deeper into stories and give readers, viewers and your online audience the information they're demanding. The CAR conference offers something for everyone, from beginners to those on the cutting edge of digital reporting. In partnership with IRE, two intensive pre-conference workshops will be offered: "Follow the Money - Companies' Influence on Politics" and "News Camp: From Words to Data and Back."

Investigative Reporters and Editors' annual investigative journalism conference, June 19-22, 2025 in New Orleans, will provide professional development opportunities in investigative and data journalism, including sessions on the most tried and tested investigative skills, story ideas and growing your network.

UNITY: Journalists of Color, Inc. is a coalition of the four alliances, the Asian American Journalists Association, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Native American Journalists Association and the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association. The 2012 convention will offer numerous education sessions, students projects and networking opportunities, including a job fair and career coaching services.

The NABJ will gather in Chicago, Illinois, Jul 31-Aug 4, for the 2024 Annual Convention, a multiday event for journalism education, career development, networking and industry innovation.

The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is hosting the annual Big Sky International Documentary Pitch Session on Feb 25, 2016. The pitch will take place as part of Big Sky Doc Shop (Feb 22-26), a five-day nonfiction industry forum during the annual film festival. Submission deadline: Dec 31, 2015.

The McCormick New Media Women Entrepreneurs program will fund U.S.-based individuals who have original ideas for new Web sites, mobile news services, or other entrepreneurial initiatives. The program will provide $14,000 in funding to each of four women. Projects must launch (at least a live beta) within ten months and must have a plan for continuing after initial funding has ended. Deadline to apply: January 27, 2012.
