Religion News Service (RNS) and IFYC invite recent graduates to apply by Jun 30 for the 2021-22 Religion Journalism Fellowship. The fellowship targets the intersection of religion and racial justice, where untold numbers of strong environmental stories await. $4,000 stipend, mentorship and more.

The Institute for Journalism & Natural Resources virtual workshop, Jul 7-8, 2021, will focus on the ocean and climate in the NE US. Designed to help journalists explore ocean issues that are underreported in popular media. Apply by June 21.

The Knight Science Journalism Program, in partnership with health, science and medicine publication STAT, is taking applications until Apr 26, 2024 from early-career US journalists for this nine-month paid fellowship, which aims to diversify the ranks of science and health journalists and foster a more inclusive and comprehensive coverage of science.

This remote KSJ program offers a range of support to working U.S. journalists for independently conceived projects. Fellowships will be awarded for varying durations over the course of the academic year, beginning in Sep 2021 and ending in May 2022. Deadline is Jun 6.

The Watchdog Writers Group offers a $50,000 annual stipend, for up to two years, for journalists writing a book in the public interest. The non-residential fellowship program also pairs each fellow with a student at the Missouri School of Journalism, who will help conduct reporting for the book. Deadline: May 1, 2024.

Ten RESP fellows will gather twice over the course of six months for practical, on-the-job training designed to develop new ways of thinking about the climate crisis and the role played by religious individuals and institutions in addressing (and ignoring) it. Includes expenses, membership in SEJ or RNA, and stipend. Apply by Aug 25, 2022.

This two-year-long fellowship is open to three early- to mid-career journalists who want to develop their investigative reporting skills. It pays $75,000 per year and includes full benefits. Fellows will start on July 1, 2021. Apply by May 23, 11:59 p.m. PT.

Solutions Journalism Without Borders' pilot program in Antigua, Guatemala will run from July 3-31, 2021. Learn how to catalyze high-impact solutions reporting in order to amplify marginalized voices and reframe coverage of complex issues in underserved communities around the world. ​Deadline is May 10.
