The New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute is again offering a full-tuition scholarship to a Native American Journalism Association (NAJA) member admitted to one of the ten NYU Journalism graduate programs in the fall of 2023. Deadline of Jan 4, 2023 may be extendable.

High Country News invites applications from early-career journalists by Apr 21 for the remote, paid, one-year Virginia Spencer Davis Fellowship reporting on rural communities in the West, and how those communities are changing. Starts July 2023.

The annual RJI Fellowships are for individuals or organizations with an innovative journalism project idea that could also benefit the industry: a 12-month residential option at the Missouri School of Journalism (up to $100,000 stipend), plus nonresidential and institutional options ($25,000). This intensive online course, run by full-time freelance journalist Abigail Edge, is an inspired DIY retreat for any freelance journalist feeling the urge to take stock and refresh their career goals. Over the course of four weeks we'll cover everything from pitching and ideas to branding and business skills, with Q&A sessions.

National Press Foundation will offer a free online training program for 25 journalists to help them track how federal pandemic assistance funds are being used. The training will be held for two hours per day from July 13-17 (10 hours total). Fellows will be offered subsequent confidential follow-up sessions with experts and data analysts to help them bring their stories to successful publication.
