Digital Storytelling for the Next Generation of Latinx Journalists

This four-week online Knight Center course is open to Latinx college and university students in the U.S. (and recent grads). Those who are interested in learning, as well as strengthening their reporting and storytelling skills for diverse audiences, are encouraged to apply. DEADLINE: NAJA/AAJA Pacific Islander Journalism Scholarship

This funding from the Native American Journalists Association and the Asian American Journalists Association aims to help Indigenous peoples of the Pacific pursue careers in journalism. The goal is to improve Oceania representation and storytelling in the news media industry. Two scholarships of $5,000. Deadline: May 1, 2023.

Environmental Justice Beat Gets Boost From New Database

The Biden administration, which has been making environmental justice a top goal, has released a new screening tool that complements existing environmental equity databases, but with especially strong attention to a range of categories like clean transit, clean water, housing issues, life expectancy and more (although, interestingly, not race). Houston Plays Host to First On-Site SEJ Conference Since 2019

Environmental journalists from around the country and beyond will gather in Houston later this month for the Society of Environmental Journalists’ 31st annual conference. Widely known as the energy capital of the world, this highly diverse city is an ideal place to drill down on the causes and consequences of climate change and other environmental issues of the day.

Curso de Intercambio Virtual Fomenta la "Competencia Global" Para Estudiantes de Periodismo

Cuando los programas de intercambio para estudiantes de periodismo fueron cancelados a causa del COVID 19, el personal docente de dos importantes universidades – una en Estados Unidos y otra en Colombia- recurrió a su creatividad, mediante la construcción de un escenario de intercambio virtual colaborativo sobre asuntos medioambientales de preocupación para ambos países.
