An initiative of the Wits Centre for Journalism, this annual conference gathers investigative journalists from Africa and elsewhere at Wits University to network, share ideas and stories, celebrate excellent, groundbreaking work and learn from one another through lectures, workshops, masterclasses and seminars.

The 15th annual Nonfiction Writers Conference is happening virtually May 7 - 9, 2025. The opening speaker this year is Roxane Gay, author of the New York Times bestselling "Bad Feminist", the nationally bestselling "Difficult Women" and many more.

Join the largest gathering of LGBTQ+ journalists and communicators for three days of learning and development at the NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists national convention in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Association of Science Communicators' SCIENCE TALK ’26 will be a hybrid conference, with in-person events in Portland, Oregon, and real-time, online participation for speakers and attendees also available.

In 2025, the CAJ conference will be held May 30-31 in Calgary, Alberta. 

This online Investigative Reporters and Editors conference will provide professional development opportunities that focus on DEI issues within the newsroom and in news coverage, as well as past NICAR and IRE Conference sessions on data skills and investigative techniques.
