"The Interior Department is offering its staff another round of buyouts and early retirements in an effort to slim down the federal department that’s in charge of the nation’s natural resources.
A Thursday press release announced that Interior “will be offering another Deferred Resignation Program as well as another opportunity for Voluntary Early Retirement.”
The statement did not offer further details about the programs, and it’s not clear what the terms of the buyouts would be.
In addition, the department said it would be “aligning more National Park Service positions to visitor-facing roles” though it also did not detail what exactly this means for existing staff."
