"Around 70,000 are expected be at the Nevada desert festival, with it urging attendees to treat “everyone affected by this emergency with patience and care.”"
"As crews in Reno, Nevada, finish placing a containment line around the Hawk Fire, some 70,000 attendees are expected to descend on Black Rock City for the Burning Man festival, just about 120 miles northeast.
The Hawk Fire is currently at 95 percent containment, after burning over 15,000 acres. Earlier this week, nearly 90,000 residents were urged to evacuate. Many in the more populated areas have been cleared to return home in recent days.
The festival urged those attending to be mindful and travel safely through the area. “Treat our neighbors, first responders, hospitality workers and everyone affected by this emergency with patience and care,” the festival posted on Facebook on Monday. “Support the Reno-Sparks businesses that have long welcomed members of the Burning Man community, while remaining mindful that some local resources are serving displaced residents.”"
