Meet SEJ member Rachel Sarah! After experiencing media layoffs as a reporter and becoming a mother, Rachel stepped back from journalism to enter digital marketing. But in 2018, as the worst wildfires in the history of California raged north of her home in the San Francisco Bay Area — where she was born and raised — she decided to return to her reporting roots. Rachel's writing has been published in The Washington Post, New York Times and POPSUGAR, and she is the author of "Girl Warriors: How 25 Young Activists Are Saving the Earth." Most recently, she's grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the two-day Institute for Journalism & Natural Resources 2021 California Coast Ocean + Climate Workshop in August.

Rachel joined SEJ in 2019 and said, "I so appreciate the EJToday climate news updates every week. Your online resources are a daily dose of knowledge!" Subscribe to the EJToday here.
