"Natural Resources: Bernhardt Navigates Offshore Drilling Questions"

"Interior Secretary David Bernhardt indicated yesterday he's not inclined to move ahead with the administration's offshore drilling proposal before the matter is hashed out in court.

Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-S.C.) asked Bernhardt if there was "a legal impediment" to developing the 2019-2024 proposal to open up more than 90% of the outer continental shelf, including Atlantic waters, to oil and gas drilling.

"There is a legal impediment to moving forward in a particular way that leads to a particular outcome," the veteran lawyer offered."
