DEADLINE: STORY TO ACTION

STORY TO ACTION (STA) is an 8-month program where the Story Money Impact team pilots impact campaigns for 5 completed and premiered Canadian documentary films.

Story Money Impact (SMI) is thrilled to announce that the third edition of this program is open for applications! We are looking for documentary films of any length that inspire action towards social and/or environmental justice. All content must be finished, premiered, and be fully available for community use by September 15, 2023. We will also accept applications for up to two specific episodes of a documentary series. We believe that there is a significant inventory of Canadian social interest documentary films made in the last five years that could help address current pressing issues. Films from 2017 onward that still have potential to catalyze action on current issues are welcome to apply.

Here are some crib notes on what we are looking for:

• Docs that explore and ignite action on social and environmental justice issues in Canada
• Content can be 20-120 minutes in length
• For the first time, we are welcoming up to two episodes of a series
• Content where all the rights align for SMI taking the film into community as of Sept 15, 2023 (please don’t apply if this isn’t the case)

We will host two zoom Q&A sessions to help answer questions that you can register for:

• Wednesday, May 10 at 10:00 – 10:30 AM PST
• Friday May 19 at 10:00 – 10:30 AM PST
