The Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) program encompasses a network of 26 sites ranging from tropical forests to polar deserts dedicated to understanding long-term ecological phenomena. The meeting program includes seven plenary speakers (Phil Robertson, Jim Collins (invited), Dave Schimel, Bill Clark, Laura Ogden, Dave Udovic), including an evening presentation on the pre-history of LTER (Dave Coleman). There will be seven working group sessions to accommodate as many as 100 working groups, space for 450 posters, four evening mixers, and pre-ASM meetings for information managers, graduate students, education representatives, international attendees, and the LTER Executive Board.
