Getting Around Missoula

AIRPORT-TO-HOTEL TRANSPORTATION

If you’re staying at the Holiday Inn at the Park, Doubletree Hotel Missoula Edgewater or the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Missoula, just pick up the hotline to your hotel in the baggage claim area for a courtesy shuttle. A cab ride is about 15 minutes and $15 (before the tip). Staying at other hotels? Check the hotel hotline phones in the baggage area or take a cab.

SPEAKING OF CABS:

Green Taxi – 406-728-8394 – runs only a Prius during the day but can add more if there’s a demand. It’s at the airport to meet incoming flights unless it’s on a call.

Yellow Cab – 406-543-6644 – they meet every flight, just across from baggage claim where the hotel courtesy vans wait. Not hard to spot.

GETTING TO THE UNIVERSITY CENTER

WALKING:

From the Holiday Inn at the Park (about 20 minutes)

Enter the Riverfront Trail at Bess Reed Park
Proceed through the park and take a right down the sidewalk immediately after exiting Bess Reed Park
Follow the Kiwanis Park/Riverfront Trail sign down a brick path
Continue along this path. You will pass a baseball diamond on your left and a set of tennis courts on your right
Proceed on this trial along the river
Take a right onto the pedestrian footbridge located directly under the Madison St. bridge.
After crossing the pedestrian footbridge take a hard left and continue to follow the Riverfront Trail up the river
Turn right as you approach the sidewalk directly before the Riverfront Trail turns into dirt.
Continue south along the sidewalk passing the Adams Center and McGill Hall on your left.
Take a left immediately after passing the tennis courts
A short right left zig-zag and you will arrive at the UC

From Holiday Inn Express (about 15 minutes)

Head west on E. Broadway
Continue past The Thunderbird Motel and the Albertsons shopping center
ake a left at the intersection of E. Broadway and Van Buren St.
Cross Clark Fork River via wooden foot bridge
Continue south along the sidewalk passing the Adams Center and McGill Hall on your left.
Take a left immediately after passing the tennis courts
A short right left zig-zag and you will arrive at the UC

From the Doubletree (about 11 minutes)

As you leave the hotel head south
Cross the Clark Fork River via the pedestrian footbridge located under the Madison St. bridge
After crossing the pedestrian footbridge take a hard left and continue to follow the Riverfront Trail up the river
Turn right as you approach the sidewalk directly before the Riverfront Trail turns into dirt.
Continue south along the sidewalk passing the Adams Center and McGill Hall on your left.
Take a left immediately after passing the tennis courts
A short right left zig-zag and you will arrive at the UC

BY BUS:

From Holiday Inn at the Park – Exit hotel onto N. Pattee St. Turn right and walk one block to corner of Pattee and Front St. Turn right on Front. Bus stop is on the right. The ride takes 8 minutes and costs $1

Bus 1 runs stops at this Pattee/Front St. stop every half hour at:

From Doubletree Edgewater – Exit hotel onto Riverfront Trail /Front St. Turn left. Walk one block to Madison St. Cross Madison, bus stop is on your left on Front St. immediately after crossing Madison St. The ride takes about 6 minutes and costs $1

From Holiday Inn Express – Exit hotel onto E. Broadway. Turn right. Walk one block to N. Van Buren St. Turn left. (If you keep walking, this becomes the pedestrian walkway to campus for those so inclined) If you’d still like the bus, turn right after about a half block onto Front St. Walk three blocks to Front and Madison. Cross Madison, bus stop is on the left. The ride takes about 6 minutes and costs $1

NOTE: Bus 1 stops on campus at the corner Maurice and Connell outside the Music/Fine Arts Bldgs. Walk South (Bldgs on your left) and turn left at corner of Fine Arts Bldg. Continue on that sidewalk until you come to tennis courts, turn right, University Center is on the left.

PARKING AT THE UNIVERSITY CENTER

If you will be driving to conference events at the University Center, please email Chris Rigel or call (215) 884-8174 to get on the parking-pass list. Let us know where you’ll stay and when you are arriving. Parking passes are $3 a day and you can purchase them in advance. If you are leaving for a tour Thursday morning, need a pass and don’t have one yet, you can pick one up at registration, as soon as you get to the University Center. Leave yourself plenty of time — buses leave at the departure time.
