DEADLINE: Environmental Photographer of the Year
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) in partnership with WaterBear aims to promote and reward excellence in international environmental photography, and to enhance the understanding of the causes, consequences of and solutions to climate change and social inequality via the Environmental Photographer of the Year competition.
The competition supports the urgent calls to action of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, recognising the intricate interconnected nature of development, poverty reduction, equality, security and climate action and the unprecedented effort from all sectors of society required to address the defining issues of our time.
We encourage entries that are contemporary, creative, resonant, challenging, original and beautiful, but most of all, images that will inspire people around the world to start taking care of our environment and responsibility for the affect our actions have.
Open for entries to all professional and amateur, national and international photographers of all ages. Deadline: Aug 14, 2021.
The Environmental Photographer of the Year 2021 will receive a £10,000 cash prize and award certificate, a spread and interview in CIWEM’s The Environment magazine, a profile on the WaterBear platform, a feature on Nikon Europe’s website and more.
The competition also includes a category for Young Environmental Photographer of the Year 2021 (21 and under). The winning photographer will receive a Nikon Z Camera + 3 Nikon lenses, an interview in CIWEM’s Environment Magazine, a profile on the WaterBear platform, a feature on Nikon Europe’s website and more.
